FAHM, alternatively known by some as the Filipino American Heritage Month, is celebrated in the United States during the month of October to commemorate the landing of the first Filipinos in the Continental United States. This happened during the Manila-Acapulco Galleon Trade era, when the Manila Galleon Nuestra Senora de Esperanza, commanded by Pedro de Unamuno and manned by Luzon Indios, landed in Central California's Morro Bay back in Oct. 18, 1587.

This year, #CarsonFilAmMonth is being presented in association with Carson Adult Day Healthcare Center, New York Life, Bayani Campaign, BakitWhy.com, FJ’s Events, Docdocil Brothers Photography, Motion Plus Aquatic & Therapy Center, Law Offices of Jaime G. Monteclaro, Rose Hills Memorial Park, USANA, and YFSC, through their respective affiliation with the Chamber of Commerce.

This fun and family friendly event will be emceed by the lovely and talented GG Starr, and will feature a wonderful lineup of talented performers including Voices of Guardian Angels singers Danielle & Dominique Adapon, “Ang Nagkahiusang pundok sa mga Sugbuanon,” Top Rated singer Malou Toler, Zumba by Sweeney, FilAms Got Talent winner Sara Mislang, Regina Nufable, International Martial Arts & Boxing (IMB) Academy, Singer and Composer Mon Concepcion, and the Music and Magic of Cecile & Mighty Show! Additionally, Attorney Jaime Monteclaro will be providing free consultations on immigration matters, personal injuries, etc., and Dr. Henrick Macalintal, DPT will provide free physical therapy consultation and cold laser treatment.
