Filipino-American History Month in the SouthBay, Los Angeles Area

The Filipino-American History Month Celebration at the SouthBay Pavilion Mall is a fun family event featuring activities, entertainment, and business showcases that aims to commemorate the achievements, contributions, and the historical presence of Filipinos in Continental United States since October 1587.

Founded by the Filipino-American Chamber - SouthBay Los Angeles Area (FACC-SLAA), the Filipino-American History Month event in the SouthBay, LA Area has been an annual event since 2011. It has attracted a plethora of performers, government officials, tv personalities, and celebrities. 

This event has made history in the City of Carson, and it has united the Filipino community in the SouthBay, LA area and beyond together to celebrate as the traditional is infused with the culture of the new generation. It has also been a platform for the recognition of Larry Itliong’s historical leadership in initiating the Delano Grape Strike.

On all the four Saturdays of the month of October (Oct 4, 11, 18, 25), you will experience the Filipino-American History Month Celebration at the SouthBay Pavilion. Come to the SouthBay Pavilion in Carson, CA to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Filipino-Americans in America. Each Saturday, there will a different themed celebration:

Anything that concerns the Filipino Immigrants – from immigration laws to health care to social services, money remittance, balikbayan boxes, banking, credit cards, buying a vehicle, phone cards, cellular, internet and TV services, and more.

The lifestyle of the Filipino American is very much conscious of staying young and beautiful. To achieve beauty, good health and wellness, the Filipino-American love to indulge in skin care and beauty enhancement products and services. They love all kinds of supplemental health products, and are always seeking for their partner in hairstyling, make-up and fashion.

To achieve the American Dream, Filipino-Americans work hard to find their niche in the workplace or in the business world. Aside from seeking and having successful careers in varied industries, one dream of Filipino-Americans is to be an entrepreneur in America and their business enterprises and ventures will be showcased on this day.

The fame and stardom of Apl.d.Ap, Lea Salonga, Jennifer Sanchez, Manny Pacquiao, and other worldclass Filipino-American talents have inspired the youth to follow their dream of gaining popularity and success. This weekend will offer a stage for the Filipino-Americans to reach out for that dream.

The Filipino-American History Month Celebration at SouthBay Pavilion is presented by the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce - SouthBay Los Angeles Area (Facc Slaa) , with the support of the City of Carson, California and the SouthBay Pavilion, along with Maxx Promos as Production Consultant.
