As Filipino cuisine begins to infiltrate New York City, Jeepney is named to the 2014 Time Out New York’s Love New York Awards

Time Out New York names Jeepney as the Best Restaurant in the East Village, NYC

Located in the heart of the East Village, Jeepney, opened by Nicole Ponseca, Enzo Lim, Tomas De Los Reyes, and Noel Cruz, achieved a spot on Time Out New York’s Love New York Awards for 2014, an award voted on by Time Out New York readers.  A restaurant with a menu completely inspired by the Filipino cuisine, Jeepney has slowly worked itself into the food scene of the East Village through their various events: the annual Balut-eating contest and weekly ‘Kamayan Nights’ just to name a few.  East Village diners are instantly transported back to Manila for the evening with the authentic decor of the restaurant, and if you happen to visit during their ‘Kamayan Nights,’ then you will definitely feel like you are back in Manila.

Jeepney’s weekly ‘Kamayan Nights’ allows diners to experience an authentic utensils-free Filipino meal where diners eat on banana leaves and are served pre-ordered Filipino inspired dishes with a mountain of garlic rice.  And if the meal is not enough to transport diners back to Manila, the bar at Jeepney is supplied with San Miguel beer, one of the most popular beers available in the Philippines.  Jeepney also provides some Western influence to Filipino favorites such as Sisig Tacos and their Chori Burger -- a Time Out New York 2014 Battle of the Burger Winner.

As Filipino cuisine slowly begins to infiltrate New York City, both Time Out New York Awards prove Jeepney will continue to offer diners a Filipino meal reminiscent of life in the Philippines.
